There have been mornings so early I have to drag the dog off the sofa to leave the house. It may take four alarm clocks strategically placed around the room to get me out of bed but the peace and quiet of an early start appeals to my antisocial side.
Late nights and a year’s worth of accounts, Karen’s cherry brandy and trying to catch up with brides have also featured. All whilst dealing with hands cut with wire, scissors and foliage. And a lot of teaching. Karen and I have teamed up three times in wreath making workshops and this is when I remember how lucky I am. I actually get to make things for a living. Seeing the effect of flowers and greenery on people is satisfying - The familiar cry of “It’s therapeutic!”. Tonight was a corporate event with twelve women who swore not have a creative bone between them but they all created little beauties. It was a short lesson so we made dogwood and willow numbers with lots of hawthorn and Spanish moss.
I forgot to take photos but they were ALL fabulous. Sometimes being in the dark, and not knowing the formula is a good thing.
