Carolyn Price for Wildflower - Solstice
This quilt top is made up largely of vintage shirts passed on to me by family members. As I was carefully removing the buttons and trimming the seams to make the best use of the fabric, I began to think of the generations of quilters who patiently used and reused every scrap of fabric available to them for their quilts. I decided to use the shirts in a traditional quilt inspired by a pattern featured in “Lizzie’s Legacy” by Betsy Chutchian. The quilt measures 120x138(cm). The batting is 100% cotton and the backing is cotton poplin. It is hand quilted in perle cotton.
